Callum Macmillan

Managing Director & Co-Founder

Callum Macmillan is known for technical innovation in film and was the first to develop a desktop post-production platform for multi-camera content, used on the award-winning feature film Ferment in 1999. This early success drew the attention of Hollywood, and as a co-founder of Timeslice Films, Callum helped develop the revolutionary bullet-time technique used to worldwide acclaim in The Matrix. Timeslice Films soon became recognized as a leader in multi-camera filming, including the creation of the well-known GoPro video array in 2011.

Callum later co-founded Dimension Studio, where he served as Chief Technical Officer. Under his leadership, the applied technology division became an industry-leading virtual production and digital production team. Dimension Studio joined Journey in 2025. Callum has been instrumental in the development of ViV, the world’s first motion-controlled virtual production system, along with Dimension’s custom build of Unreal Engine for real-time visual delivery and its AI-driven content production pipeline.
