Mark Grimmer is the Principal Creative Director at Journey and Co-Founder of Journey’s 59 Studio, the multidisciplinary design studio and production company that blends theater, cinema, and multimedia to forge new and unexpected storytelling strategies.
Mark served as Creative Director of the Victoria and Albert Museum’s landmark exhibition David Bowie is, which toured to eleven cities globally. His writing and direction have shaped 59 Studio’s collaborations with institutions including the National Theatre, The Metropolitan Opera, the Anna Wintour Costume Institute at The Met (Met Gala), the Bob Dylan Center, the United Nations, and the BBC.
He was also the writer and director of Bigger & Closer (Not Smaller & Further Away)—an immersive digital experience created in collaboration with artist David Hockney and the inaugural show at Lightroom, a joint venture between 59 Studio and London Theatre Company.
