Steve Jelley is an award-winning producer and a long-standing pioneer in virtual production. With a background in digital media, he co-founded Hammerhead Interactive in 2011, which grew into one of the world’s leading virtual reality and volumetric capture studios. Steve played a major role in developing the technology and infrastructure behind virtual production and later evolved Hammerhead Interactive into Dimension Studio, which is now recognized as a world-leading studio in this field. Dimension Studio joined Journey in 2025. Steve remains committed to ensuring that virtual production remains a powerful creative tool for filmmakers.
Steve’s work spans major studio features, television, and independent film. Recent series include Roland Emmerich’s historical epic Those About To Die, Apple TV’s Masters Of The Air (executive produced by Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg), and Taika Waititi’s Time Bandits, also for Apple TV. Recent films include Robert Zemeckis’s Here, starring Tom Hanks and Robin Wright, and Disney’s Pinocchio, also directed by Robert Zemeckis.
